Thanks for another great year!

Happy new year everyone! I am so thankful for your continued support and your patience while I took a little shipping break. All orders placed during the break have now shipped!

I just added two new things to the site:

• BTB 02 “Barely There” brake boosters in red

• TC 1 stem top caps in 1-1/8 and 1”, also, in red!

I ended up with a lot more work than anticipated for December/January so no new website yet. I’ll keep working on that behind the scenes and aim for a smooth transition that you hopefully won’t notice. Definitely happy to be busy, Shovel Research has turned 3 years old and orders are really picking up!

Now that volumes are larger, I have been more focused than ever on actually implementing the lean manufacturing principles that I love thinking about.

I have a clear vision of what I want Shovel Research to become and it is very exciting to be working toward that goal and seeing meaningful progress. Along with all sorts of daydreams for the future and new product ideas, I’ve been working on a lot of small improvements — mostly packaging related.

I am getting a surprising (small but surprising) number of unsolicited job applications from freshly graduated youths. I’ll take the compliment, but currently have no plans whatsoever to have any employees. Just me and Flynn-dog while his heart holds up! He is almost 14, and cuter than ever.
